Welcome! Just last week SFC USA celebrated their 21st Annual National Conference in South San Francisco. If you made it out, I hope you learned a lot and will take the message to heart. If you missed it, here is a little summary of what you missed.
Don’t forget to create an account or sign in using facebook, there are some bonus content that you are missing out on if you don’t.
This year’s theme of Love More comes from John 21: 15-17.
So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My lambs.” He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Shepherd My sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Tend My sheep.
John 21:15-17, NASB
Let’s see what is in store for us when we learn what it means to Love More.
Talk 1: Have We Caught Nothing?
Brother Dermot “Derms” Wang from SoCal taught us about the ups and downs of being a follower of Christ. He spoke about the victories we have had with God, but then how easily we forget the blessings in hard times and where our faith may fail. We must remember that God is always waiting for us to come to Him, to love Him, he is always there!
What are the victories that you have had in the past year? When your spiritual highs begin to fade, do you fall back to your old ways? Do you sometimes feel empty? What will happen if you “cast your net” on the other side and trust in God?
Talk 2: It’s The Lord!
Brother Shaun Guevarra from CFC Maryland taught us about the amazing and bountiful love that God has for us. He continues to share that God loves us so much and pours out blessings and how we should respond to God’s love with a heart filled with gratitude to God.
What are some of the priceless things/people/moments that God has given to you? How have you responded to God’s love towards you? Do you respond by sharing your time, talents, and treasure? When you experience God, do you jump and rush to do more for God?
Talk 3: Do You Love Me?
Kuya Randy Muyargas from SoCal CFC taught us about what it means to say Yes to God, what it means when we say that “I Love God”. We have to remember “Yes” is a powerful answer and we cannot take that lightly. He also shared a song with us as he sang with his wife Kara. …KISS!!… He reminds us that we are not to be lukewarm Christians. When it comes to following God there is no in between, there is only YES and NO.
Do you truly mean it when you say that you love God? Have you been lukewarm, what can you do to change that? How will you show God that you love Him?
Talk 4: Love More!
Brother Gelo Saludo, a SFC full-time worker from Canada, taught us about what it means to love more. We also got a short language lesson about love phrases. When we are asked by God if we love Him and we say that we love Him, God responds with an action. That action is to love and care for His people.
Will you go out and Love More? Who will you reach out to by sharing the love of God? Will it be your family, your friends, your coworkers, or the poor in your community? Will you love more by being more forgiving, more present, serving more, or sacrificing something for someone?
Did you hear the emotional sharing from our beloved Chapter Heads? Don’t miss it towards the end of the talk. We love you and thank you so much for your beloved service to SFC OC and what you have done and continue to do for our chapter. We are proud to say that you are family to us, and your service is definitely brings glory to God.
Loving Response was about how we can respond to challenging issues, such as the SCOTUS ruling. The main thing to remember is that we should not attack others, but rather respond with love as God has called us to do. Remember, God has everything under control. But it is our duty to respond to these challenges with love, this is our challenge to Love More.
SoCal United is a collection of musical talent that has gathered from the different chapters that make up SoCal SFC. The band formally known as InstaBand, performed for the Sunday worship sessions while Christian led opening worship and Ralph leading for the Praisefest.
SFC OC has several members from our chapter as part of the band including: Clark, Lara, Dimples, Jared, Jillian, and Celine.
How was Conference?
“This was my very first SFC Conference that I went to. My favorite part of the conference was singing the worship songs. I really had an amazing time with the OC Chapter and I also enjoyed meeting SFC members from different states. After my very first conference, I’m already looking forward for other SFC conferences.
Message from your ACCs
“Thank you guys! Being an ACC wasn’t an easy job, especially when we had to make sure that everyone had a place to stay in and breakfast to eat haha..but despite all the challenges, all our hard work was definitely worth it! It’s such an amazing feeling to think that I was able to help bring 47 amazing brothers and sister to conference!! Thank you everyone for all of your support! Hopefully, you guys all had an amazing time!
And to the upper leaders, thank you for picking me to do this job. Thank you for believing in me, when I didn’t even think that I could do it. I was hesitant at first, but I’m glad I said yes!
So brothers and sisters, to the next accs, don’t be afraid to yes! God really do work in mysterious ways. And for that may God be praise #LoveMore
I hope everyone got home safe!. Can’t wait for New York!!”
“Jelly and I would like to thank all of you that were able to make it out to Conference this weekend. It was tough planning for it but we hope you got a lot out of it and hope you will go again next year, so let’s start saving early!
I hope you were motivated to Love More and say Yes More to service for our Lord. To share your time, treasure, and talent for the glory of God and evangelization efforts of our community. We are expecting a lot from you guys, but God expects More! Love you guys!”
