Over the past two weekends, our chapter as well as other chapters have joined together with thousands of other people in two cities to rally, walk, pray, and share our belief that every life matters. It does not matter how small, a person is a person. We believe that every person should choose life, as Mary did with Jesus.
Throughout the post there are some of the things that a few of us learned or wanted to share from these events and experiences.
Check out more pictures and videos by reading the rest of the post below!
“I am not a mother nor a woman and I can’t imagine all the emotions and thoughts bearing upon a pregnant female in the world today. Its not easy, I can’t bear the cross of childbirth, but that doesn’t mean I can’t help any woman, friend, or sister carry with theirs.”
“SF walk for life especially was like one long whole day fellowship/retreat. it was fun getting to know my fellow brothers in sisters. If anything this is a pre-conference for august. Go to Conference! WHOO!”
On January 17, 2015 OneLife LA held their 1st Annual One Life LA Walk as a rally to celebrate the beauty of every human life from conception to natural death. Approximately 15,000 people walked the streets of Los Angeles to support the first annual walk in Los Angeles, and SFC was there!
“Abolish Abortion: One City at a time! Welcome aboard LA!”
On January 24, 2015 Walk For Life West Coast held their 11th Annual Walk For Life WC in San Francisco. Much like the One Life LA Walk, thousands of people gathered to pray and rally to celebrate human life. It was approximated to have about 50,000 people at this year’s rally and walk, and guess what? SFC was there!
“Felt AMAZING! Knowing that we were walking for a cause! Definitely going to pray for the ones on the opposing side of the cause. Also our trip came with a bonus Filipino movie :)”
– Lorenzo & Carla
I was personally at the Walk For Life WC rally in San Francisco and I have to say it was an amazing first experience for myself and for several others that were also attending for the first time. I was great to pray a new church I had never been to, and also to see so many other people doing the same. We also gathered together to listen to testimonies of those that had a previous abortion or attempted an abortion and their regret and what they did to reverse the attempted abortion. It was an amazing experience and also a learning experience. I truly felt that I was in God’s presence and doing His will by sharing our faith, standing up for what we believe in, and doing so in the presence of others. It’s a life changing experience.
“I felt that the long walk was all worth it because it was for a good cause.”
This Saturday, January 31st, 2015 San Diego will hold their own 3rd Annual San Diego Walk For Life. Some of the SD Chapter will be attending, while OC Chapter will be encouraged to go to the CFC Evangelization Rally on the same day. Website
“Walk For Life SF was a great and fulfilling experience. I was part of something meaningful that can change people’s lives. I felt that I made a difference! By posting photos of WFL on social media, we were also able to increase the awareness of family and friends and convey the message of “Pro-Life”. As a new member of the SFC community, I am also glad that I was able to get to know some of our sisters and brothers better during the trip.”
Last week there was a book available for free on Amazon about how we can talk to others about Pro-Life. Hopefully some of us were able to get it for free and are able to read it and learn from the book with others to read. The book is called Persuasive Pro Life by Trent Horn. Check it out, its only $2.99 and maybe we can start a book club and share with one another.
Lordy also shared that there is a podcast that you can listen to if you want to learn more about the Pro-Life Movement in The Catholic Conversation podcast if you enjoy listening to podcasts!
